Departments and agencies with the Government of the Northwest Territories develop records disposition authorities to help them organize and manage their records.

Approved records disposition authorities give departments and agencies the ability to classify schedules, and dispose of their records. Disposal can be by transfer to the Northwest Territories Archives, transfer to another organization, or destruction.

These records disposition authorities are approved for all GNWT departments and agencies and are managed by the Records Management Section:
