What is a master plan?

A master plan is a document which provides recommendations, analyses, and policies used to develop a framework for future development. Master plans typically address the development needs for a 20-year time period.

What is this information session about?

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is reviewing the master plan for the Hay River Merlyn Carter Airport. The GNWT wants to hear from various stakeholders – public and industry – to gather input and to answer any questions.

Why is the master plan for the Hay River Merlyn Carter Airport being reviewed?

The master plan is being reviewed to adapt to the changing needs and growth of the airport and the region. The master plan will also provide insights into changing demographics, economics and other areas of consideration. Traditionally, master plans are updated every five years.

By providing us with your opinions, insights and observations, you are providing  the GNWT with information that will assist in the development of informed decisions about the future of the Hay River Merlyn Carter Airport.

Can I find results of the information session?

Once finalized, the master plan will be made available on the Department of Infrastructure website. In addition, copies will be available at the Hay River Merlyn Carter Airport and Hay River Town Hall.
