What was this engagement about?
The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) held engagement sessions to gather input for possible mandatory entry-level training for new Class 1 and Class 2 drivers.
Why is the GNWT considering mandatory entry-level training?
Currently, the GNWT does not have regulated training requirements for Class 1 or 2 licences.
Mandatory training could result in safer, more highly skilled drivers working in the truck and bus industries.
