INF Employee Spotlight: Graham Cox

With 500 employees working across the territory, the Department of Infrastructure (INF) is one of the largest departments. INF has launched a campaign to highlight some of its hard-working employees and the important work they do.

The fifth profile of the campaign is Graham Cox, the Captain of the Lafferty Ferry.

I've been Captain of the Lafferty Ferry for 16 years now. During Ferry season, I help sail the Lafferty across the Liard River - around 30 trips a day. My responsibilities also include the safety of navigation, crew and passengers (up to 50 people can be on board at any given time.) I enjoy being able to connect with the crew and passengers whenever I'm able to do so.

Ferries are essential to our Northern transportation chain, as they ensure passengers and essential cargo can be safely transported to remote communities across the Northwest Territories.
