Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program
Overview
This program supports the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in the Northwest Territories through funding provided by the GNWT and the Government of Canada under the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP).
Eligible locations include:
- Public places and street parking
- Multi-unit residential buildings
- Workplaces
- Light-duty vehicle fleet facilities
Applicants may receive:
- Up to 50% of eligible project costs
- Maximum of $7,500 per Level 2 connector
- Maximum of $99,999 per Level 3 fast charger
Eligibility
Open to incorporated or registered entities in Canada, including:
- Businesses and industries
- Utilities (electricity/gas)
- Academic or research institutions
- For-profit and not-for-profit organizations
- Community and Indigenous governments and Indigenous organizations
- GNWT departments, agencies, Crown corporations, and affiliates
How to Apply
- Review the Program Guide
- Choose your application stream:
- Simplified Application: Up to two Level 2 connectors
- Detailed Application: three or more Level 2 connectors or any Level 3 chargers
- Complete and submit the required forms and documents:
- Application Form (required for both application streams);
- Proposal Form (for Detailed Applications only);
- Supporting documents.
Deadline
All projects must plan to be completed by December 31, 2026.
