Overview

This program supports the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in the Northwest Territories. Eligible locations include:

  • Public places and street parking
  • Multi-unit residential buildings
  • Workplaces
  • Light-duty vehicle fleet facilities

Funding is provided by the GNWT and the Government of Canada under the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP). Funding Details

Applicants may receive:

  • Up to 50% of eligible project costs
  • Maximum of $7,500 per Level 2 connector
  • Maximum of $99,999 per Level 3 fast charger

Eligibility

Open to incorporated or registered entities in Canada, including:

  • Businesses and industries
  • Utilities (electricity/gas)
  • Academic or research institutions
  • Community and Indigenous governments
  • GNWT departments, agencies, Crown corporations, and affiliates

How to Apply

  1. Review the Program Guide
  2. Choose your application stream:
    • Simplified Application: Up to 2 Level 2 connectors
    • Detailed Application: 3 or more Level 2 connectors or any Level 3 chargers
  3. Complete and submit the required forms and documents:
    • Application Form
    • Proposal Form (for Detailed Applications only)
    • Supporting documents

Applications will close March 31, 2026
