The GNWT supports a range of energy programs and incentives to help communities, businesses, and individuals improve energy efficiency, save on energy costs, and reduce their emissions.
Arctic Energy Alliance Rebates and Services
Funded by the GNWT, the Arctic Energy Alliance (AEA) provides rebates and services designed to reduce the costs and environmental impacts of energy and utility services. Homeowners, businesses, and communities can save on energy-efficient products, building improvements, home improvements, renewable energy, electric vehicles, and home energy evaluations. Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Grant Program
This program helps fund projects that reduce or replace fossil fuel use and lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the NWT. Funding is provided by the GNWT, with support from the Government of Canada through the Low Carbon Economy Leadership Fund (LCELF). Learn more about the GHG Grant Program application process here.
Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program
This program supports the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in public places, workplaces, and residential buildings. It gives businesses and community governments the opportunity to lead the way in adopting clean transportation technologies.The program is funded by the GNWT and the Government of Canada.
